* i have been procrastinating this post for so long, i can’t even start to tell you. but here it is finally. Mr. Simons is no longer designing for Dior, but nevertheless what he has done while doing so can’t be canceled.
** this post will be only in english. probably i’ll get to translate it some day, if i manage to trick procrastination once again.
I have always thought that fashion is more than just combining clothes and accessories, but art in some kind of practical form. It’s expressing one’s mood, one’s aesthetics and one’s own persona actually. This is why I find it extremely exiting when fashion and “real” art collaborate like in the work of the Belgian designer Raf Simons for Dior (and for his own brand).
Probably now you will understand my enthusiasm about the documentary movie “Dior and I” (great movie, really!). It shows the creation of Raf Simons’ first haute couture collection for the giant Christian Dior (and his first haute couture collection ever!!). Being brave and artistic as he is Mr. Simons transfers Sterling Ruby’s canvases on some of the pieces for the collection. This movie is all about hard work, dedication, togetherness, passion, inspiration… and beauty.

Art doesn’t only belong in museums or on any walls, where one can just admire it from a distance. Art must be incorporated into our day-to-day life. Art is all about interaction. I am pleased and inspired when I see great examples for my belief and understanding of art and fashion, one of them being the work of Raf Simons.

Mr. Simons did it once again, showing us that art will always be a great source of inspiration for him. Dior Fall 2015 Couture collection is once again inspirited by a piece of art, this time being Hieronymus Bosch triptych “The Garden ofEarthly Delights”.
Not only the collection itself, but also the beauty look for it was inspired by a great painter – Botticelli. And I must say once again, I am totally fond of this fresh, young and sensual look. Just one last word to describe everything that Mr. Raf Simons did for Dior – AH-mazing!
